Determine the best-suited fiduciary for the needs and situation of Veterans and other beneficiaries who are unable to manage their VA funds. Ensure that beneficiaries receive all the benefits they are entitled to and take necessary actions to protect their funds. Conduct background investigations on proposed fiduciaries, and establish and approve budgets and major expenditures for beneficiaries under fiduciary care. Review and report on fiduciary performance, investigate allegations of misuse of funds and verify the welfare and adequate living conditions of beneficiaries under fiduciary care. Supervise beneficiaries transitioning to financial independence under the Supervised Direct Pay (SDP) program and conduct administrative investigations at the request of other VA organizations.
