Director of Delivery and Impact @Power To Change
Led Power to Change\'s work putting learning, evidence and theory into practice, to design and implement solutions to the challenges facing communities across the country. We did this by improving understanding of what community businesses need and can provide. We used this understanding to support community business innovation and connect community businesses to support, resources and ideas to improve their resilience and impact. Responsibilities and achievements include- developed five-year organisational strategy, accompanying annual business plans and multi-year budget for a £68m portfolio of programmes - as a member of the Leadership team secured an additional £20m grant from the National Lottery Community Fund - introduced more consistent project management and budgeting processes across the organisation, all resulting in improved organisational delivery, performance and impact - pivotal role in an organisational restructures and building multiple high performing teams - led a team of 14 people and oversaw an annual budget of £7.5m - led the development of an organisational theory of change, impact and learning framework, new data collection tools, storage systems and analysis processes, and user-friendly reporting systems, including KPI Dashboards - introduced and embedded the use of design thinking methods and tools in programme development, design and delivery
ABOUT STEPHEN MILLER
I am passionate about reducing poverty and inequality. I have dedicated the last fifteen years to not only better understanding the causes and symptoms of poverty and inequality in the UK, but to put this insight into action to alleviate them. Drawing on techniques from community development, design thinking, social innovation and social research, I lead teams to design new products and services, understand their impact and tell stories through data, all with a view to reducing poverty and inequality. I augment this knowledge and insight by working with and alongside communities through my voluntary work, and I am currently Chair of Cliftonville Cultural Space, as well as sitting on an advisory board for the V&A Dundee and their work on community wealth building.
