ABOUT STEPHEN COOK

In my current role as Compliance Supervisor I, I\'m responsible for leading a team of 4-5 individuals conducting examinations of member firms. The primary goal of these exams is to ensure market integrity and protect investors. Planning these examinations of members requires obtaining an understanding of their business objectives, structure, policies, processes, and internal controls and identifying areas of high risk. Another responsibility with my role is to train new Compliance Examiners and assist in completing assignments to ensure high quality and efficient use of resources. One of my core skills is time management, which is achieved through my ability to prioritize tasks, organize schedules, meet deadlines, and delegate responsibilities while maintaining focus and minimizing distractions. This has contributed to my team and I opening and closing 29 exams all of which never went over deadline.Outside of work, I enjoy trying new food spots in the city, cooking new recipes, and getting a good workout in. Physical activity promotes relaxation by reducing the levels of stress hormones in the body. By incorporating exercise into my routine, I can effectively manage stress, improve my resilience, and maintain a health work-life balance. This translates directly to my work by enhancing my ability to focus, problem solve, and make sound decisions, ultimately improving my work performance.Let\'s connect!
