As an innovative businesses you will understand the importance of getting expert help to capture the value in the intellectual property (IP) you are developing and to manage the risks to your business presented by IP rights of others. Applying my 25+ years of experience as a UK & European Patent Attorney I will help you to put in place an IP strategy that supports your business aims. I enjoy working closely with businesses to help them develop and implement their IP strategies and especially enjoy working with ambitious startups and SME’s, helping them understand the role IP plays in supporting the success of their growing business. My work as a UK and European patent attorney, building on a degree and MPhil in mechanical engineering from University of Bath, focuses on the engineering field. I have particular experience in medical technology (devices & software), automotive/transport, outdoor and sports equipment, and software. My work covers the full patent lifecycle, from drafting patent specifications, through prosecuting applications at the European Patent Office and UK IPO and management of international portfolios, to oppositions, appeals and advice in relation to disputes. My wider practice also encompasses IP due diligence and opinion work, as well as advice in relation to design protection strategies.Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and I coach a successful junior rugby team.
