About Stephen Geer

Stephen Geer serves as Senior Credit Officer for United Community Bank (NYSE: UCB), a top 100 US financial institution with $28 Billion in assets across 200 offices. He is responsible for commercial credit bank-wide for the Commercial Real Estate and Homebuilder Finance lines of business as well as Commercial and Industrial(C&I) credit for the states of Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Geer previously served as the Senior Credit Officer covering the Tax Exempt Finance and Senior Housing industry verticals as well as the commercial banking SCO for the state of North Carolina. Geer serves as a voting member of UCB’s Senior Credit Committee along with the Bank President, Chief Risk Officer, and Chief Credit Officer. Prior to joining UCB, Geer held various leadership roles in Commercial Middle Market Banking, Real Estate Banking, Credit Administration, and Problem Asset Management at Regions Bank(NYSE: RF) in Atlanta, GA. Prior to joining Regions, he served as Deputy Finance Director for Georgia’s 10th Lieutenant Governor. Geer is a third generation UGA graduate and earned both a BBA and Masters of Business Administration from The University of Georgia\'s Terry College of Business. Additionally, he completed the miniMBA program at Clemson University in Greenville, SC. Geer grew up in rural Southwest GA as the son of a pecan farmer. He is an avid hunter, competitive angler, and beekeeper who is passionate about wildlife conservation. Geer recently earned the designation of Certified Beekeeper from The University of Georgia\'s Master Beekeeper Program. Geer has served on the Terry College of Business Young Alumni Board, Shepherd Spinal Center Junior Committee, Atlanta Quail Unlimited Board, and as the Treasurer of the Risk Management Association-Atlanta Chapter.
