The Authority runs the 26 mile long Lee Valley Regional Park including a series of sports venues – notably three London 2012 venues. Reporting to the Chief Executive, I lead on launches, policy, engagement and political liaison. Extensive Board level involvement. Responsibility for strategic direction of PR, marketing, brand, internal communications, social media, online, public affairs and stakeholder communications. Provide strategy and counsel to senior staff and Chairman. • Launched three London 2012 venues: Lee Valley VeloPark, the Olympic legacy cycling venue in March 2014, Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in June 2014 and Lee Valley White Water Centre in March 2011 – all large, complex, successful launches, resulting in the most positive and largest amount of media in Lee Valley’s history• Created and implemented new communications strategy. Restructured team to an “agency style” configuration to more efficiently promote the varied offer of the park and build brand recognitionReviewed and revamped all stakeholder communications, targeting messages and information to key decision makers and those with influence over the organisation. Significant speaker engagements• Built and negotiated effective relationships with complex web of stakeholders • Game-changing and hugely effective marketing, PR and online campaign for Lee Valley White Water Centre created double expected visitors and income (£2m)• Increased brand recognition by 19% in two years (YouGov survey), media coverage by a factor of five and standing with key funders to highest ever score (London Councils research) • Effective crisis management • Rebranded the Park Authority creating a new destination brand for the Lee Valley, brand values for the organisation and major signage review
