ABOUT STEPHEN BONNER

I am a Board Member, ex-Big 4 Partner, Board Advisor and Digital Risk & Resilience Specialist, guiding the delivery of technology and regulatory driven business transformations in complex global organisations across the Private and Public sectors. I am currently Executive Director, Regulatory Supervision at the Information Commissioner\'s Office - Establishing the ICO’s stances on Regulatory Cyber, Assurance, and Enforcement and Investigations and leading work to position the ICO effectively to regulate in the digital landscape.Prior to this I spent nearly 10 years as Equity Partner at Deloitte LLP and KPMG LLP, in leadership roles in Cyber and Privacy Risk Services. My earlier career includes: Managing Director – Information Risk Management & Financial Change at Barclays PLC, establishing the IRM team globally. Board Advisory includes: UK National Cyber Advisory Board (NCAB) member, Board and Audit and Risk Subcommittee member at UK Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec), Industry Chair of MI5’s Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) Financial Services Information Exchange (FSIE); Chair of Investment Banking Special Interest Group on Information Security (IB SIG); and Founder and Chair of Internet Security Systems (ISS) UK User Group.Combining this breadth of senior leadership experience in industry and consulting, I can credibly influence the change agenda while applying insight gained delivering high-scale technology change programmes in major commercial businesses to accelerate transformation.I have a proven track record as a peer and coach at Board level to check and challenge ingrained perceptions while strengthening governance and senior leadership effectiveness. This recently includes leading a Board effectiveness improvement initiative for a FTSE100 Bank to radically improve communications between Board and Exec teams and ensure robust, effective response to security issues.
