ABOUT STEPHEN Y. CHOW

For more than three decades, Stephen Chow has been a leader in the field of intellectual property and technology law. Since 1976, he provided counseling, transactional and dispute resolution services to technology and life sciences companies, from start-up to Fortune 50, across the full spectrum of U.S. and international intellectual property (IP), information, commercial, competition, employment and entity finance and governance law. Throughout his career, Stephen has worked at major law firms in New York City and in Boston. He has been a partner in leading IP and business practices in both general and boutique firms. Today, he is of counsel to the Hsuanyeh Law Group of Boston, continuing successful assertions of and challenges to patents in electric vehicle (EV) batteries and biomedical instruments. Stephen Chow is an effective advocate in federal and state court and agencies. He not only brings deep technical knowledge to law practice (including experience in biomedical devices, computer and telecommunications equipment and software, robotics, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and chemical processes), but he integrates his command of the strategic and operational issues of technology and life science enterprises into legal solutions. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional and a Massachusetts delegate to the Uniform [State] Law Commission (ULC) since 1994. He was elected to the American Law Institute in 1996 and teaches IP, commercial and enterprise law at Boston area law schools. Stephen Chow is available to fill gaps in or extend the IP and information law practices of firms through efficient business, regulatory and technological assessment, contracting and dispute resolution services. on a “turn-key” project basis or more extended support of life sciences or technology research or commercial production - with a unique knowledge of the growing intersection of commercial and personal data rights, the societal demand for accountability of automated decision systems (including AI), and new methods of property transfer such as distributed ledger technology (DLT, including blockchain and NFTs).
