ABOUT STEPHEN WRIGHT

Professor Stephen Wright is Interim Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto. He holds the Canada Research Chair in Population Genomics and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. His research interests are focused on the genomics of plant adaptation and the evolution of plant genomes. He is the recipient of an E.W.R. Steacie Fellowship, the Steacie Prize for Natural Sciences, an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship and the Margaret Dayhoff Award for Research Excellence. In 2023, he was the winner of the Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution’s President’s Award for research excellence.
