Facilitates programming related to developing the skills and awareness required for higher education and college and career job readiness. Additionally, the College and Career Readiness Specialist provides support to students and families with regard to college and career readiness. Specific tasks include- Implementing initiatives that promote and support College and Career Readiness- Establishing partnerships and create connections within the community- Facilitating group sessions with students and/or parents- Leading workshops related to college and career opportunities such as professional behaviors and communication, internships and employment, networking opportunities and college basics- Managing data collection and record-keeping to ensure that student and program outcomes are accurately reported- Overseeing the development of partnerships with local organizations which will provide students with career readiness experience, as well as planning for speakers and excursions related to college and career- Introducing students to job and higher education norms and hold them to high behavioral and academic expectations- Collaborating with high school and college program staff to align workshops- Providing one-on-one support, coaching and counseling to students and develop trusting relationships with all students and their families- Providing additional support, to promote and develop K-12 college and career initiatives- Collaborating with other district personnel to organize student and parent informational sessions
