When my daughters joined the British International school of Houston, one of the first things they wanted to do was joining its field hockey club. However, for them it was quite disappointing to find out that the school did not offer field hockey in its sports program. After some talks with the athletics director of the school, who was super enthusiastic, and a successful taster session in March 2022, I was given the opportunity to start a field hocey club. We started in May 2022 with the secondary school students (MS and HS). And since the beginning of the academic year 2022/2023, also primary school joined our program. You can find us practicing four days a week on our fields surrounding the school. Our goal is to create a structural field hockey club and a high school team that will be able to join the school competition.
