ABOUT STEPHEN SHAPIRO
I am currently a Professor in Sport and Entertainment Management at the University of South Carolina. My research interests are in the areas of Finance and Marketing, with a focus on ticket pricing in the primary and secondary markets and consumer behavior as it relates to both purchase and charitable contribution decisions. Specific research topics include dynamic ticket pricing in sport, college athletic donor behavior, luxury suite price determinants, attitudes and sport consumption in college athletics, and fantasy sport consumer behavior. I teach undergraduate and graduate level classes in the areas of Sport Finance, Sport Media, Sport Marketing, Research Methods, and Statistics. My goal as an educator and scholar is to produce research that is grounded in sport business theory, but provides practical application in an effort to advance our knowledge within the industry.
