ABOUT STEPHEN ROBSON

I’m an experienced engineering professional and technical project lead with a strong track record delivering complex automation and control systems across defence, marine, utilities, and pharmaceutical sectors. Holding a First Class Honours degree in Control & Automation Engineering, I bring a deep technical foundation, leadership capability, and a proven ability to deliver high-stakes systems from design through deployment.At BAE Systems, I lead a team of engineers responsible for functional testing and integration of submarine platform management systems, including SCADA development, PLC programming, and system verification under the V-model. I’ve also managed agile practices to improve collaboration across engineering disciplines.My earlier experience includes delivering SCADA and PLC systems for the clean and wastewater industry, leading the SCADA development of a subsea automation projects on a offshore pipelaying vessel, and working in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environments under ATEX conditions. I’m highly skilled with Siemens and Rockwell platforms, SCADA/HMI design, SysML traceability, and end-to-end systems engineering—from requirements capture and functional design to FAT, SAT, and commissioning.I’m driven by the challenge of integrating diverse technologies and teams into robust, safe, and mission-critical systems. Whether mentoring junior engineers, managing stakeholders, or leading technical delivery, I thrive in environments where precision, innovation, and accountability are essential.
