ABOUT STEPHEN POTTS

Professional Summary Program Manager with 30 years of experience in the IT industry. I began my career as a mainframe systems programmer before moving into Web Development in the mid 1990’s. I started working on Electronic Content Management (ECM) implementations when I joined OpenText in 2002 as a Senior Technical Consultant. I have been involved with many different ECM implementations in the last 13 years with roles ranging from technical consultancy through to project management, client-side advisory and business case development. I have worked on Social Care systems, financial processing workflows and a variety of scanning solutions. I then moved from the Services team into Sales, where I performed the role of a Technical Account Manager, working with the Sales team to manage the tier 1 customers. Following that I moved into the Technical Services team as a Senior Services Program Manager. This role involves looking after some of the largest customers OpenText has, negotiating large contracts with board level employees such as CEO’s CIO’s and CFO’s. I was responsible for delivering and developing the business in Sub-Saharan Africa, which again involves meetings with CIO’s as well as business users to discuss their requirements and subsequently developing the solution and negotiating the contracts. Then when requirements were agreed, managing the implementation and resourcing. I have worked at well over 100 different companies in the UK, Europe and Africa, in virtually every industry vertical, but with a primary focus on financial services companies.
