Responsibilities:Supervise and oversee the operations of a diverse team of 30 workers for ship-loading operations in an isolated arctic location.Plan and coordinate the effective and safe operation of equipment on site, in addition to overseeing various shutdown activities.Function as the Occupational Health and Safety Commission (OHSC) representative for various accident investigations (ICAM).Oversee and manage the development and implementation of department procedures to maintain operational requirements.Check and review the conditions and weights of vessels to ensure consistent cleanliness and compliance with loading procedures.Coordinate consistent loading rates, keeping production at its peak performance and not overloading the ship loader system.Working closely with the Port captain monitoring vessel movement, eta’s and de-ballast time requirements.Monitor product movement to and from storage tanks, coordinating activities with other workers to ensure constant product flow.Observe and review ship loader positions into the correct positions and the appropriate holds for the loading sequence.Operate and oversee a wide range of feeders, conveyors and equipment to transfer ore into the ship loading system.Record operating data such as flow rates, hold changes, operating times, berth and de-berth, manually or using computers.Stacker operations and stockpiling procedures. Proper foot print, angle of repose, required pile height step backs and safety.Developed a video-based standard operating procedure (SOP) for training, including storyboarding, filming, and editing the videos.Successfully developed my career from a position as an Equipment Operator into a position within the middle management team.Maintained and developed extensive and current knowledge on the bulk ship loading industry and required shipping standards.Supervised the operations of more than 30 people responsible for shipping 6 million tons of Iron Ore in a 90-day window.
