ABOUT STEPHEN P. GROVES
Stephen P. Groves, Sr. is a Member in the Charleston, South Carolina Office of Butler Snow, LLP. His main areas of practice are appellate work, insurance coverage litigation, and business litigation. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Counsel and a Member of the American College of Coverage Counsel.Mr. Groves graduated from the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina School of Law. He was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1986 and is a member of the Bars of the United States Supreme Court, and the United States Courts of Appeal for the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Federal Circuits. From 1987 through 1990, he served as co-editor of the Arson Reporter, a publication of the ABA\'s Young Lawyers Division. He has served on the editorial board of the South Carolina Lawyer and as a contributor to South Carolina Jurisprudence. He has also served as a contributing editor to South Carolina Civil Procedure and The Law of Domestic Relations in South Carolina, as a contributor to the ABA TIPS’ Property Insurance Law Committee\'s Annotations to the Standard Fire and Homeowners Insurance Policy and Property Insurance Issues in Catastrophe Losses, as editor of the ABA Young Lawyers\' Division Arson Project Committee\'s Arson Reporter, as a chapter contributor to the West Group three-volume treatise Law and Practice of Insurance Coverage Litigation, as editor of the Appellate Advocacy Committee Newsletter and Property Insurance Law Committee Newsletter), and has authored articles for the ABA TIPS Journal, as well as, the TIPS The Brief. Mr. Groves is a member of the Council of Appellate Practitioners, International Bar Association, Center for International Legal Studies, American Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar, the Charleston County Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association.Specialties: The South Carolina Bar only permits the use of the term \"specialist\" and/orsome variation of that word in reference to an actual Specialty Certification by the South Carolina Supreme Court.
