About Stephen Onomah
Stephen is currently pursuing a Master’s in Metallurgical Engineering, He specializes in metal extraction technologies, with active research in critical metal recovery using sustainable, state-of-the-art techniques. Working within advanced laboratory facilities, I explore both conventional and emerging extractive methods to address the growing demand for strategic metals vital to green technologies, electronics, and energy systems. Research & Technical FocusMy core interests lie at the heart of extractive metallurgy, where I focus on the development, optimization, and sustainability of metal extraction processes, including-Hydrometallurgy, Biohydrometallurgy and electrometallurgy of lithium, cobalt, Indium, Gallium, germanium, nickel, manganese, and rare earths -Advanced mineral processing and beneficiation of complex ores-Sustainable recovery of critical and strategic metals from primary and secondary sources-Process design and optimization for metal leaching and purification-Pyrometallurgy of ferrous and non-ferrous metals Industry Experience & Field ExposureWith professional exposure at ADAMUS RESOURCES LIMITED, Nzema Gold Mines, I have practical experiences into the full metallurgical value chain from ore handling and process control to gold recovery. This industry foundation complements my academic research in developing efficient, environmentally friendly extraction routes. Academic Leadership & Knowledge SharingAs a former Academic Board Head and current Trade & Technology Leader, I actively shape academic programs and mentoring initiatives. I’m also a dedicated educational content creator, producing video resources on metal extraction principles and processes to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Achievements & Recognition-Awarded \"Best Hardworking Appointee\" for excellence in academic service and leadership-Led multiple academic and technical training sessions in metallurgy and materials engineering-Recognized for outstanding contributions to research, teaching, and student engagement-Best graduating student in Metallurgical Engineering Class of 2024
