Specialising in the environmental chemistry, bioavailability and toxicity of trace elements and inorganic nanoparticles. Modelling is a key part of my work and I am active in developing, testing and applying models in relation to issues of contaminant chemistry (the WHAM speciation model), dynamic behaviour in soils and waters (the IDMM) and toxicity (the WHAM-FTOX and FRIED models). I have published 48 peer-reviewed articles and two peer-reviewed book chapters.
