ABOUT STEPHEN KOVASH
I serve as Program Coordinator and advisor for grant and contract activities with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This involves the oversight of a grant program designed to foster involvement of colleges, universities, state and local governments, international organizations, and other not for profit research organizations in developing a scientific basis for environmental decision making. I assist in budget formulation, proposal review and award of grants, contracts and other program activities up to I develop and implement training programs in the application, award, administration and management of grants and contracts. As a Program Analyst for the Environmental Protection Agency Office of International Activities, I negotiated and implemented agreements with research organizations in Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union. I serve as team leader for the conduct of management and advanced monitoring reviews in the Office of Research and Development. I am a Certified Federal Mediator and Facilitator under the Federal Shared Neutrals Program.I am a Board Member of the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, focussing on Fund Raising and Governance issues. I\'m the current President of the Plaza District Association, focusing on Board Development, Governance and Fiduciary issues. I\'ve led many events and committees for the Arts Council of Oklahoma City and other arts organizations in central Oklahoma. I majored in art at Central State University, and have a Master of Public Administration from OU and MBA in Arts Management from OCU with honors.Owner of Istvan Gallery which features the work of emerging and established Oklahoma artists.
