As the Business Process Consultant, my key responsibility is to review and simplify the electronic-based Construction Management System ensuring the procedures are easy to understand, easy to follow and easy to access. Through cross functional process mapping workshops, I have developed interactive process flows that detail the keys steps in the process with the inclusion of embedded hyperlinks enabling users to easily access the latest and most up to date, controlled documents ensuring compliance with all company standards. Additionally, working with the Group Quality Assurance Manager, we have taken each phase in the typical construction process and broke these down into several segments allowing users to effortlessly locate the desired process without having to examine the ‘entire’ procedure making a welcome change to the business. The process mapping exercise also gave the business the opportunity to incorporate newly released regulations, including those from the updated Building Safety Act. It also highlighted redundant documents that were no longer being used (due to a change in process and/or automation) and where new documents needed to be developed to ensure conformity going forward.
