About Stephen Clardy
I have over 20 years of experience in the management, design, integration and test of flight hardware and ground support equipment for various missile systems. This experience includes all life-cycle phases of the programs from proposal to major reviews (including Systems Requirements Reviews, Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews) to assembly, integration and test, and through launch operations. I have recently returned to Lockheed Martin as a Senior Manager. My last role was Director of Programs at Archarithms responsible primarily for leadership of IRAD and SBIR projects. I previously worked at Lockheed Martin in a number of Chief Engineer roles including Chief Engineer for the Targets and Countermeasures Program (TCP), Chief Engineer for Missile Defense Systems, Chief Engineer for the Courtland production facility and Chief Engineer for the LV-2 target missile systems for TCP. As a Chief Engineer, I was responsible primarily for the technical integrity of my responsible products, adherence to company and program policies and procedures, and leadership of a diverse, multi-generational, multi-discipline team. I have been a chair of Engineering Review Board and Change Control Board processes. I was responsible for leading teams through major design reviews for components, subsystems and systems. I have experience as a Lockheed Martin Certified Product Engineer through the delegate Executive CPE level for TCP. I regularly briefed upper management and MDA customer at various review boards. I have extensive experience in field operations of target missile systems. I have performed duties in Launch Control as Telemetry Officer, Launch Conductor and Launch Director for various target programs. I have designed and tested both special test equipment and flight hardware. I have design experience with power systems, avionics, flight termination, telemetry instrumentation, and RF systems.
