ABOUT STEPHEN BOHAN
Experienced Manager and Industrial Systems Engineer with a proven track record in the aerospace industry, specialising in manufacturing, industrialisation, continuous improvement, and people development. I bring a systems-thinking mindset and a strong ability to bridge engineering design with practical, shop-floor execution. As part of the Industrial Architect team, my role spans both Industrial Systems Engineering and Industrial Architecture. I have delivered run-at-rate analyses, lean line design initiatives, and comprehensive industrial assessments. From an architectural perspective, I review detailed design drawings to determine industrial feasibility and support production readiness. Where challenges arise, I collaborate closely with design, procurement, and cross-functional stakeholders to develop robust, cost-effective solutions—often leveraging emerging technologies to demonstrate viable industrial means. This role demands strong stakeholder management and adaptable communication skills, allowing me to operate effectively with shop-floor operators, engineering specialists, and senior leadership alike. Through co-design activities, I actively influence product and process decisions to improve outcomes for people, products, and customers. A highlight of my career has been contributing to the Single Aisle XLR (eXtra Long Range) programme.I am currently part of the Airbus Quality function, having initially joined the Wing of Tomorrow development programme. In this role, I supported the introduction of advanced manufacturing techniques and next-generation quality inspection methods. I later progressed into project management, leading the deployment of a new process in collaboration with Airbus Commercial leadership, while managing POA compliance for Informative and Significant changes in accordance with EASA Part 21G requirements.I am a driven, forward-thinking professional with a strong appetite for learning and continuous improvement. I actively challenge conventional thinking, advocate for simplification, and embrace new technologies. I am comfortable proposing ideas that may require short-term investment when they deliver sustainable long-term value.“All progress is precarious, and the solution of one problem brings us face to face with another problem.”— Martin Luther King Jr.How we respond to those challenges defines our character.
