I am a leading lawyer in the United States single family residential housing industry. I have handled more than $100 billion of transactions involving single family homes, including term and warehouse financings, single and multi-borrower securitizations, joint-ventures, investment funds and mergers and acquisitions. My clients include Wall Street banks, special opportunities hedge funds, private market lenders, private equity funds, debt funds and public and privately held companies. I am known for my ability to handle a wide variety of new and novel transactions involving single family homes and the financing thereof. I developed the first institutional credit facility for single family rental, the first mezzanine loan for single family rental, the first single borrower SFR securitization, the first multi-borrower SFR securitization, the first ABS style SFR securitization, the first unrated SFR securitization and the first iBuyer securitization. My financing and securitization documents are the market standard and are widely used at all levels of single family rental finance. I also developed and perfected the concept of synthetic securitizations in real estate finance and completed over $10B of such transactions in 2024 alone.The Invitation Homes 2013-1 securitization I handled was named Structured Finance Deal of the Year for 2013 by International Financing Review. The ARMI 2022-1 securitization I handled was named SFR Securitization of the year at the 2022 Information Management Network SFR industry awards where my team was named SFR law firm of the year. We were again named SFR Law Firm of the year at the 2023, 2024 and 2025 Information Management Network SFR industry awards. I also structured and handled the innovative Zillow 2021-1 and 2021-2 securitizations.In addition to my work as a lawyer, I previously worked for billionaire entrepreneur, Eli Broad, as the Assistant to the Chairman of SunAmerica Inc. While working for Mr. Broad, I handled mergers and acquisitions and corporate development responsibilities for SunAmerica and was also involved in the management of SunAmerica’s alternative asset portfolio. I am a Certified Public Accountant in Illinois and I was an Adjunct Professor at USC Law School from 20••••08.
