About Stephanie S. Kuo
Stephanie Kuo is an award-winning public radio journalist currently working at PRX as the Vice President of Content, dedicated to building out a more radical and nimble public media system as well as a more open and accessible podcasting industry in the U.S. and abroad. She leads a dynamic content, production and talent development team at PRX that not only oversees the growth of its own portfolio, but also supports partners through the expansion of their content strategies through creative product consulting, soup-to-nuts production and show launch and growth.Stephanie also oversees PRX\'s innovative podcast training and education initiatives, which have helped thousands of independent and non-profit media creators since 2018. She currently manages the Podcast Creator Summit, a collaboration with Apple Podcasts, to democratize podcasting industry knowledge and skills via local community events and convenings. Since 2024, PRX has hosted free multi-day events in Atlanta, Austin, Washington, D.C. and London – offering 1-to-1 mentorship, hands-on workshops and panel discussions with leaders of industry, like Tenderfoot TV, iHeart, Goalhanger, Sony Music Entertainment, Acast, Audacy, Wondery, Apple Podcasts, and more. In her time at PRX, Stephanie has created and lead everything from long-term podcast incubators and one-off workshops to conference speaking events and direct creator mentorship. Partners over the years include the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Google, YouTube, PBS KIDS, Emory University and Southern Documentary Fund. Before joining PRX, Stephanie was a reporter at KERA, the NPR affiliate in North Texas, covering poverty, homelessness and urban development. She was also the producer and project coordinator for the Texas Station Collaborative, an innovative news consortium between the four largest public radio stations in the state (KERA, KUT in Austin, Houston Public Media and Texas Public Radio in San Antonio). Stephanie helped develop what is now the NPR pilot program for regional news collaboratives, called the Texas Newsroom.Stephanie was also the co-host and producer of the independent, James Beard-nominated podcast, Racist Sandwich, exploring the intersection of food, race, gender and class.Stephanie received a Master of Science from Columbia University\'s Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor\'s in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.
