   In my role as an Academic Advisor at Florida State University, thus far, I have supported more than 300 students across 9 majors and 4 colleges at the Panama City campus.With my Student Affairs background, I am always keen to lend my support at campus-wide events - from Convocation to Commencement and student-led fundraisers and activities.I am also fortunate to have the opportunity to teach two courses each semester: The 3-credit-hour \'Thinking Beyond Ourselves - Global Perspectives\' course I\'ve taught (developed by Dr. Bryant Harden), explores themes pertaining to cross-cultural communication, global awareness and critical reflexivity. Students in this course also participate in a COIL project with college students in South Korea and Brazil.In my \'First Year Experience\' course for First-Time-in-College (FTIC) students, we explore topics such as:• Motivation, Wellness and Productivity• LinkedIn and Resume Writing• Navigating Academic Policies, Resources and Procedures• Professional Communication• Personal Development: Self-Concept, Personal Agency and Goal Setting• Extracurricular Involvement• FSU History and TraditionsI relish seeing our FTIC students expand their comfort zones, make new connections and strengthen their self-confidence throughout the semester.In May of 2025, I was immensely honored to be awarded \'Staff Member of the Year\' by the FSU Panama City Student Government Association (SGA), and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in our campus community.
