ABOUT STEPHANIE SMITH HADDAD

I am truly passionate about helping people become “gainfully employed” and have served as a Senior Recruiter, HR Specialist, and HR Tech for over 15 years. I currently work for Santa Barbara School District where I am in charge of finding and hiring hundreds of quality candidates to work as our teachers, walk-on coaches, and \"hard to fill\" positions within our Special Education department such as paraeducators, mental health therapists, program liaisons, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts. I spend my time using investigative journalism tricks I learned in college to do deep research dives and reverse engineer recruiting processes to uncover amazing people and connect them to jobs with our district. After being in the world of recruiting and human resources for many years, I consider myself to be a talent acquisition alchemist and I use my abilities to read people and ask pertinent questions to determine if a candidate\'s passion and focus aligns with a position I\'ve been tasked to fill. Although everyone and their mother likes to make this claim to fame, I actually DO pay attention to details, and I have the rare ability to switch gears and think “broader perspective” on just about any topic I chew on. I am innovative and I am a creative brand strategist at heart. I regularly administer full-cycle recruitments while managing high-volume needs, I excel in relationship building with administration from various departments and schools, and I maintain a \"customer-centric\" focus whether I am engaging with a long-standing employee or a potential candidate. One of my super powers is writing and communications and I am very fortunate to have had my career path punctuated by related successes including serving as a regular paid blogger on Snag-a-Job.com, receiving \"People Love us!\" and \"Best Writing Business in Ventura County\" Yelp awards, and being a featured author on CareerBuilder about healthcare and nursing job searches. When I’m not spending time working to find and support amazing employees, I enjoy studying ancestry, teaching myself to paint with acrylics, listening to podcasts, and walking our Australian Shepherd Huckleberry.I welcome conversation and look forward to connecting!
