About Stephanie Guevara

While my path to becoming a Mobile Developer was non-traditional, my love of programming and technology has me motivated to continually learn and grow in my career.My interest in programming began sophomore year of college. I was a transfer student and, by the time my registration date rolled around, all the “fun” classes were filled, so signed up for an “Intro to Programming” class to satisfy a general education requirement. Little did I know this seemingly innocuous decision would change my life. I took as many CS classes as I could fit into my schedule but ultimately graduated with a dual degree in Statistics & Applied Mathematics and Dance. I spent the year after graduation working as a retail buyer, analyzing data and finding creative solutions to problems, but, try as I might, I could never shake off the desire to code. I have always had an equally analytical and creative brain; programming seemed to satisfy and really foster the growth of both cerebral hemispheres. The more time that passed, the more I missed it.I began taking online courses and attending tech meetups. After a year as a buyer, I decided to turn my passion for programming into a career. Now that I am pursuing a career as a developer, I am excited about my future and look forward to a lifetime of learning. I finally feel like I am doing what I was meant to do.
