About Stephanie Douglas

A California native, Stephanie Douglas was born in San Francisco and raised on the Peninsula. She began her career in Recreation following graduation from high school, working as a recreation leader & eventually a Program Coordinator for the City of San Carlos. For the past 20+ years, Stephanie has worked in a management capacity for various agencies including Redwood City, Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation, the City of Milpitas, City of Palo Alto, City of San Mateo and most recently the City of Pacifica as Deputy Director overseeing a multitude of recreation programs, facilities, personnel, and projects. Stephanie has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters’ Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources from Notre Dame de Namur University and has been awarded the California Parks and Recreation (CPRS) Earl Carmichael Professional Grant and CPRS Service Award for her contributions to the field of Recreation. In addition, Stephanie is a certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) through the National Parks Recreation Association (NPRA). Throughout Stephanie’s career, she has relentlessly followed her core values of Excellence: the passion to do your best in each moment; Integrity: doing the right thing, not the easy thing; Service: caring and making a difference; Creativity: freedom to imagine and the courage to act in hopes of creating a better community for everyone. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family, especially her wife and two daughters (ages 12 & 15), playing golf and enjoying all of the beauty and adventures the bay area has to offer.
