ABOUT STEPHANIE C. REAVES

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker who is currently working as the Program Manager of Peer Education at the Mental Health Association in Delaware within the Peer Training and Outreach Services department. In my current position, I oversee our Certified Peer Recovery Specialist training program and its staff, in addition to coordinating and teaching the course material that people need to take to pass the examination to become Certified Peer Recovery Specialists in the state of Delaware. Topics include cultural competence, ethics, trauma, harm reduction, history of the Peer movement, among many others. I also plan and organize our annual conference known as the Delaware Peer Support Summit.In my broader role at MHA, I am involved in marketing and development projects, teach suicide prevention trainings, and facilitate wellness groups. I am a lifelong learner with a passion for mental health and trauma education, effective communication, advocacy and social justice, and love to create safe spaces of healing and empowerment for women and people of color. As a leader, I do my best to lead with empathy, integrity, and a make a commitment to creating supportive, inclusive spaces where people feel appreciated and empowered. I value collaboration, practical action, and self-awareness, and strive to model wellness, compassion, and accountability in everything I do.
