Research grant opportunities (primarily from federal & state agencies plus some private organizations) based upon project funding requests and ongoing City needs.• Help City departments determine which grant opportunities they want to apply for based on their desired project and funding goals, grants expenditure restrictions; matching fund requirements, time frames (e.g, grant applications deadlines, expected grant award date, allowable grant period, and project deadlines), etc.• Write grant applications (often in conjunction with funding requesters and subject matter experts). This involves planning, organization, creative brainstorming, research (including applicable government regulations), technical writing, grant requirements analysis, ensuring proposal compliance with those requirements, budget & schedule preparation and/or review, and time management.• Manage, facilitate, coordinate, review, and/or perform work that is required after we are awarded grants in order to get an executed grant agreement (generally board approvals, funding appropriations, form completion, and draft contract review. but sometimes grant funders require much more).• Administer grants & sub-awards as well as support the management of grant projects. Aspects include business analysis, project management (including budgets, scope, and schedules), reporting, financial management (e.g, invoices, vendor payments, grant expense reimbursements from grant funders, some audits), legal/contractual review/negotiation, and procurement support (e.g, RFPs and proposals).
