ABOUT STEPHANIE WOODEN

I am currently a Senior Accountant at KPMG Halifax in Assurance. Within my role, I work with clients in Regions East to provide assurance services and answer their questions. In addition, my role allows me to learn new skills through my professional experience, which will help me earn my CPA designation in the future. Before starting at KPMG, I completed my Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting at the University of Western Ontario. In addition, I completed my Bachelor of Commerce Co-Op degree at Dalhousie University, graduating with a major in Accounting and a Certificate in Disability Management. In September 2020 at Dalhousie, I joined the Dalhousie Women in Business Association (WIBA) as a general member. Since then, I have served in various roles within the organization, including First Year Representative, Conference Co-Chair, and President. My roles with WIBA have taught me the importance of advocating for women in business and encouraging other young women like myself to take on leadership roles.My passion in life is learning, which has resulted in receiving a Chancellor’s Scholarship, the Ross Towler Accounting Scholarship, and the Commerce Alumni Association Award. I have always been driven by the goal of academic success, but I also want to develop my skills and abilities through diverse work and volunteer experiences. While I continue to pursue my education to earn my CPA designation, I plan to take on every opportunity that comes my way to ensure I become a well-rounded and educated person.
