Kamae Design is a small design studio based in Oxford working in publishing. Since starting at Kamae in 2002 I have worked on a range of varied projects my roles and responsibilities have included:• cover design• concept design for series and individual projects• page design and layout including realia/facsimilies • producing varied marketing materials• preparing pre-press files• designing and producing e-books pages• working together with in-house and freelance designers to produce large scale products and ensure series styles are followed • organising and managing my own workloads• art buying from illustration agencies and individual illustrators • working with picture researchers and photo libraries• building relationships with clients to manage projects and keep them on schedule• communicating with editors to ensure projects run smoothly• attending design and editoral meetings
