About Stephanie R.

My purpose is simple: to mobilize education. I started my journey in high school as a youth ambassador for the World Literacy Foundation where I advocated for literacy in underrepresented communities and continued through the pandemic to engage activism for students being left behind during remote education. This passion for service led me to spending the summer after high school researching violence prevention amongst youth, and writing grants for two grassroots organization geared toward disadvantaged youth. Coming from a non-English speaking family, I\'ve constantly pushed myself to pursue opportunities to serve others despite facing obstacles myself. I joined Sparks Within Reach where we served houseless inner-city youth and give them access to educational tools. I also joined University Blood Initiative as the Chair of Marketing and was promoted to President by my 3rd year to spread awareness about the blood donation crisis that afflicts minority communities in the US. Currently I work on the fundraising team of Malaika Collective as an Outreach Coordinator, where we launched a campaign to raise $100k to fund the world\'s FIRST BIPOC-catered co-working and retail professional space and I have coached over 300+ customers at RinglePlus to help them with career direction. On my creative spectrum, I am a songwriter and I just released my new song and co-directed my music video for \'Wrong Side of the Bed\' ft. celebrated runway models Ramilia and Alik.

   Led focus group interviews with public school K-12 & college students in NYC to gather data-driven research to help the DOE create student-ready schools, especially for minority students. I was invited back two months later and got promoted to co lead the fellowships.
