As a Clinical Research Coordinator at MSK Immigrant Health and Cancer Disparities Center, I support the Family COMIDA (Consumo de Opciones Más Ideales De Alimentos) study, a community-based initiative aimed at reducing obesity and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors among Hispanic/Latino families through culturally tailored, family-centered interventions. I lead bilingual patient recruitment and informed consent processes at both clinical and community sites, including the Mexican Consulate’s Ventanilla de Salud, where I connect participants to preventive health resources such as NYC Care and the Ralph Lauren Center’s free cancer screenings. In this role, I deliver individual and group nutrition education sessions, manage data collection and quality assurance in compliance with IRB standards, and assist with translation and survey administration to ensure accessibility across languages. Through this work, I collaborate with a multidisciplinary research team to advance health equity and expand access to preventive care for immigrant and medically underserved communities in New York City.
