Pittsburgh, PA, US

I began my career at Giant Eagle as a QA Specialist, but quickly transitioned to a Regulatory Compliance Specialist. As a QA Specialist, key activities include working with independently owned stores to generate nutritional information for store-made items in bakery, deli, prepared foods, and meat departments ensuring compliance with FDA Menu Labeling Law, and working to ensure that all partially hydrogenated oils are removed from all recipes. As a Regulatory Compliance specialist, key activities include label review and consulting on claims that can be made. Work with own brand managers to ensure that new product labels and their labels are complaint with all regulations and third-party standards. Create reference documents for those unfamiliar with regulatory compliance. Audit independently owned store locations to assure that food safety processes are being followed. Work with Oracle to create a system that would house all projects, from ideation to commercialization. Train and continue to assist the new QA Specialist while I transition to my new role.
