ABOUT STEPHANIE MAKEY

First career in Social Work with a keen interest in safeguarding, learning disability and mental health. Qualified with First Class Honours from the University of Hull.I then spent 6 years as a Police Officer at Humberside Police and a Police:Now Graduate from 2017.Spent 3 years as a Neighbourhood Beat Manager and a further 3 years as a Response Officer in Hull. I was then a training DC in an investigative role focussed around serious & acquisitive crime. I passed the National Investigators Exam in June 2023.I resigned in September 2023 and joined Yorkshire Housing as an ASB and Tenancy Enforcement Officer and where I recently gained my CIH Level 3 Accreditation.I am also the host of a brand new podcast with Superleague Raw - Ladies Tackle Talk - The ONLY all female podcast discussing men’s Rugby League. Tune in on a Tuesday morning to discuss all things Superleague.Wife of a Law Lecturer and mother to 3 kids (one adult child) and step mum to a further 3 kids.Keen interest in Rugby League and Swimming.Avid reader with ambitions to be a successful writer.Rugby League is a huge part of my life - ever since I worked for the might Hull Kingston Rovers a few years ago. Currently nurturing my very KEEN 10 year old son who has ambitions to be a Super League Referee and has already joined the local Referee Society… any tips or connections would be hugely appreciatedRecently diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called psoriatic arthritis and still learning to manage the condition and balance my very busy life & job.I take immunosuppressant medications resulting in me changing roles at work.Sometimes, after a storm comes a rainbow and my diagnosis was key in finding out where my professional desire and strengths lie. Onwards and upwards and striving to be the best practitioner and person I can be.
