About Stephanie MacKenzie
I am an experienced elementary educator with a reading endorsement who has a demonstrated history in curriculum design, online (distance learning), and educational technology. I am skilled in blended and project-based learning, professional learning communities, response to intervention, and differentiation. However, social-emotional learning and character education are my specialty when it comes to my students and their families. I make sure to take the time to get to know each and every one of my students as well as their families on a personal level. I have high expectations for every student in my classroom. Yet, I believe a student must feel trust, respect, and a sense of security in their teacher as well as a sense of community and comradery in their classroom with their classmates. We become a classroom family in my classroom. When this happens, a student\'s growth can excel above and beyond even the high expectations I set for them. I am kind, organized, and humorous in nature. Designing lessons that are engaging, rigorous, and CCSS correlated are worth the extra time at night and on weekends that it may take me to get all of my resources together. Our students are our future and I think that is worth it.
