ABOUT STEPHANIE LARES

Experienced financial services leader with a focus on strategy, innovation, and scalable growth. I currently serve as Growth Manager at Michigan First Credit Union, supporting enterprise initiatives that drive long-term growth and advance our path toward credit union growth. With over 13 years in the financial services industry—including 11 years in leadership roles—I bring experience in growth strategy, project leadership, process improvement, integration support, compliance, and cross-functional execution. I hold an MBA from Anderson University and a BBA from Western Michigan University, blending strategic insight with hands-on leadership.Prior to this role, I held several leadership positions at Michigan First, including Senior Branch Manager and Sales & Service Manager, where I partnered closely with branch teams to drive performance, develop talent, and elevate the member experience. That frontline perspective continues to shape how I approach growth—keeping strategies practical, people-centered, and impactful.Coming up on 7 years with Michigan First, I’m proud to be part of an organization committed to innovation and community impact. In 2022, I was honored to receive the Michigan First Way Award in recognition of contributions made throughout my career with the credit union.Outside of my day-to-day role, I remain deeply passionate about the Grand Rapids community and the people we serve. While I’ve previously held leadership roles with organizations such as Junior Achievement, the Grand Rapids Chamber, and Inforum, my continued focus is on supporting meaningful community connections that align with Michigan First’s mission.
