About Stephanie Kissinger
I am a government affairs manager for Waste Management (WM) in Southwest Florida, where for the past 12 years I have continuously built effective relationships that result in long-term sustainability success for my customers. It is how I manage large exclusive franchise agreements and facilitate negotiations with government and company leadership to best serve municipalities and the pleasure of their residents. In addition to government affairs, it’s intriguing for me to participate in the operations of what is essentially an engineering and manufacturing company – garbage and recycling fall under both categories – where I learn that there is almost always a way to do something better. And the best part is that relationship-building for work has a wonderful side-effect that expands my network to include new experiences, fun opportunities, and a diverse group of friends. Hired to establish company presence in Collier, Lee, and Charlotte Counties. Negotiation of multi-million dollar waste collection and disposal contracts with counties and municipalities in Southwest Florida. Management of contact relationships with local elected officials, government staff and community stakeholders. Address contract compliance review and operational issues working in conjunction with county and city staff, as well as internal department partners. Present at commission and council meetings to serve as an “expert” to elected officials. Work with internal departments to resolve customer service/billing issues as needed. Direct company’s image in the community and participate in activities to further company message. Provide support services to advance customers’ recycling knowledge and implement new programs.
