ABOUT STÉPHANE SADOUX
I trained in town planning at the University of Newcastle (BA, MTP) and Université Grenoble Alpes (MA, PhD) and in history at the University of Oxford (Mst.). I have been teaching for over 20 years, mostly in architecture, urban planning and urban design, in France, Britain and Switzerland. Most of my research has focused on British urban and regional planning theory and practice as well as planning history, with specific reference to the garden city movement - past, present and future. Prior to engaging in an academic career, I worked for the Town and Country Planning Association in London.I was deputy director (2017-20), then director (2020-23) of the AE & CC research unit at Grenoble University\'s School of architecture and am currently leading the Laboratoire d\'Excellence (LabEx) Architectures initiative. This 8-year project was launched in January 2025. It brings together 13 labs and more than 200 researchers from a range of disciplines to address crucial contemporary issues in architecture and the built environment.
