ABOUT STEPHAN SCHOENHERR
I am Stephan Schönherr, born in 1970 in Berlin. Since 2022, I’m serving as the Vice President of Design & HMI at MAN TRUCK & BUS SE. My educational background includes studying aerospace engineering at the Technical University of Berlin, followed by product design in Germany and abroad at North Carolina State University (N.C. State, USA), which I completed with a diploma from the Berlin School of Art and Design (KHB) in 1997.I started my career in 1998 as head of bus product design at MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG and have held various management roles since then. Notably, I headed the engineering departments for the driver\'s workplace and the exterior of the city bus and became the Head of Brand Design for MAN Bus and NEOPLAN in 2006. In 2014, I was appointed Vice President of Bus Design for MAN & NEOPLAN, and in 2022, I took on my current responsibility as head of product design and the HMI Truck, Bus, Van at MAN.Throughout my career, I have received 24 design awards, including several iF design awards, red dot design awards, “Automotive Brand Design Team of the Year” by German Design Award and numerous nominations as well, making me one of the successful commercial vehicle product designers globally. I am also involved in various design boards and juries, contributing to the design and university community and sharing my expertise.
