ABOUT STEPHAN KELLNER

I am a Transportation Engineer, Project Manager and People Leader with more than 20 years experience in the field. Transportation Planning connects experts across all fields of Transportation to leverage thought leadership, technical best practices and lessons learned and helping Clients to plan and shape our built environment. We are at the forefront of projects that help shape the environment that we live in, and we help our clients to deal with uncertainty, identifying opportunities and threats, and finding solutions that are useful into the changing future. I am fascinated with different aspects of the transportation field, mostly connected by how humans interact with each other and how we operate our environment. This fascination translates in expertise in active transportation, traffic signals and operations, roundabouts, transit signal priority, bus rapid transit infrastructures. My curiosity about optimisation and operations ties into every aspect of my professional life. I approach project management from an operations perspective, ensuring optimal project execution and managing of stakeholder’s expectations at the same time. As the former Director for the Transportation Planning practice for WSP in Quebec, I am able to empower teams to deliver exceptional projects to Clients.I mentor, explain and train planners and project managers in operation practices, which lead to a position as Director of Operations during a two-year period for a team of more than 400 professionals. In that position, I was able to facilitate the application of operational best practices, increase adoption of project management tools by showcasing the benefits to all parties involved, and by focusing on easy-to-understand explanations.
