I’ve taught a term and been part of new coaching CPD. Being coached, helped me learn “how to coach” and make the distinction between how I “coached” in PGCE and an evidence based model. It also helped me be aware of how starts can be done more effectively and efficiently.Continuing to research and apply to my teaching. I’m currently reading “Understanding how we learn, “Retrieval Practice” again and “Five Formative Assessment Strategies in Action. I use chapters from these books as I read about Teaching and Learning, planning and evaluating:Adam Boxer’s “Teaching secondary Science “,Doug Lemov’s “Teach Like a Champion”,Jamie Clarke’s “One Pagers, Barak Roseshine’s “Principles of Instruction “.textbook “Cognitive Psychology and David Didau and Nick Rose’s “What Every Teacher aNeeds ti Know About Education “I have applied to be part of a teaching and learning group and expressed and interest in coaching. To be coached as it’s short lesson observations one one part to work on.I believe we should not use activities/strategies that have no evidence for working and don’t, should be ditched. I also believe the most important part of teaching is being aware of working memory. It underpins what can be achieved. So my goal is to optimise it.
