ABOUT STEPHANIE ITIMI

Stephanie Itimi is the Founder and Chair of Seidea CIC, an award-winning platform dedicated to empowering over Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) women in cybersecurity by providing training and job opportunities. She also holds the position of Director of Information Protection and Compliance at Age UK and serves as an Associate Non-Executive Director at NHS Blood and Transplant, where she is involved in strategic planning and workforce development. She is a contributor to the World Economic Forum Cybersecurity Outlook 2025 report and a Linkedin Instructor for XAI in Cybersecurity course.Stephanie is pursuing her PhD at Royal Holloway, University of London, focusing on the dynamics of employee surveillance in Information Security. Internationally, she played a pivotal role with the BBC World Service team in launching the first public health information service on WhatsApp, which combatted Ebola disinformation in West Africa and reached over users. This project fostered crucial partnerships with organisations like UNICEF, WHO, WFP, and CDC. She also represented the Nigerian embassy on a circular economy trade mission to the Netherlands.Her consulting work spans Slovakia, Morocco, the UK, and several African nations, focusing on enhancing digital literacy, gender equality, and data freedom. Partners in these efforts include Culture Fez, Balloon Ventures, UN Women, and the European Commission. Furthermore, Stephanie has contributed to the Digital Futures in Africa platform, examining the ethics of AI use in Nigeria alongside the Society for International Development, the University of Lagos, and SOIF.
