We are often hiring for the following positions. Reach out if you feel like you\'re a fit!Are you a Principal Software Engineer? Our team is working on- Architecting a multi-tenant, production-grade SaaS platform used to run and manage large-scale design workflows- Designing backend systems that handle orchestration, state, data integrity, and long-running jobs- Making foundational decisions around APIs, service boundaries, reliability, observability, and deployment- Building systems that must be correct, traceable, and resilient; not just fast- Working in a small group of principal engineers where you influence architecture, standards, and technical direction- This is a role for engineers who want to leverage: fewer layers, fewer handoffs, and real ownership over the platform. Are you a Research Scientist? You’ll operate at the intersection of theory and systems- Designing novel RL agents and foundation-style models grounded in physics and real design constraints- Tackling long-horizon, high-dimensional optimization problems where off-the-shelf approaches fail- Owning research end-to-end; problem formulation, experimentation, scaling, and integration into production workflows- Working closely with engineering to ensure research translates into durable systems, not one-off results- The expectation is that your work materially changes what the system can do.Are you a Research Engineer? You’ll be the connective tissue between research and production- Designing and scaling training and experimentation environments used continuously by researchers- Building reliable systems around simulation, evaluation, and experiment tracking- Hardening research pipelines so they can run repeatedly, reproducibly, and at scale- Partnering deeply with researchers to unblock progress and reduce friction- This role requires strong systems thinking and comfort operating in ambiguity.

ABOUT STEPH HECTOR

Astrus is building software and models to automate one of the hardest problems in computing: analog chip design. We apply reinforcement learning and foundation-style models to physical systems with real constraints. Our work replaces slow, manual layout workflows with systems that can generate, evaluate, and iterate at scale. This isn’t a demo or a wrapper around existing tools; it’s a production system used to solve real engineering problems. We build our own models, infrastructure, and platforms end-to-end, with a strong bias toward correctness, scalability, and long-term maintainability. We are often hiring for the following positions.
