ABOUT STEFFEN HELLMICH

From an early age, I have been fascinated by technology and innovation. This curiosity led me to a career in engineering, where I discovered my passion for transformative change. Early in my career, I realized that motivated, well-led teams are the foundation of success—an insight that propelled me into project and R&D management. I had the privilege of contributing to an inspiring Lean-Agile transformation led by Robert Neuhauser, whose leadership left a lasting impact on my mindset and approach. That experience shaped my commitment to relentless improvement, a collaborative and situational leadership style, respect for people, and a Lean-Agile way of working.Over the past 25+ years, I’ve held various leadership roles across industry and renewable energy, often in complex, multicultural environments. I began as a development engineer at Siemens AG, designing motion control products, and later led product, system, and solution development initiatives. A career highlight was leading a Lean-Agile transformation at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, where I combined technical expertise with a passion for transformative change, increasing business agility and enabling sustainable growth.Since October 2024, I’ve been heading the Digital Products unit at Vattenfall, at the heart of BA Wind’s digital transformation. We deliver software-based solutions—digital products—that enhance the efficiency, reliability, and performance of renewable energy power plants and the processes behind their construction and operation. We take full end-to-end ownership of our products—from ideation and MVPs to scaling, operations, and phase-out. Our portfolio includes systems for configuration, monitoring, real-time control, data products, and advanced analytics.I aspire to lead initiatives that drive sustainability and innovation, contributing to a better, more secure, peaceful, and prosperous world. I\'m deeply committed to leveraging Lean-Agile principles to foster empowerment, trust, collaboration, and lifelong learning—developing solutions that address today’s challenges and create lasting, positive impact.Outside of work, I stay active through martial arts, qigong, fitness, and yoga. As a dog owner and nature enthusiast, I enjoy time outdoors with my family. I’m passionate about staying current with trends in Agile-Lean leadership, AI, sustainability, and societal change. This blend of physical activity, companionship, and intellectual curiosity keeps me balanced and energized—ready to embrace new challenges with optimism and drive.
