ABOUT STEFFAN ANKRAH

Hey there! I’m Steffan—a PhD student in Chemical Engineering and a passionate advocate for sustainability, smart systems, and digital innovation in industry. I studied Chemical Engineering at KNUST, where I built a solid foundation in core principles like thermodynamics, mass and heat transfer, and process design. That background continues to shape the way I think about systems—both in theory and in the real world. At Unilever Ghana, I worked on digital transformation and operations management—handling everything from team scheduling and statistical process control to data visualization and continuous improvement. It taught me how to use data as a driver of efficiency and meaningful change. Now, my research focuses on making large-scale industrial systems cleaner, smarter, and more efficient. I’m working on optimization-based planning for green hydrogen and ammonia production. I geek out about smart manufacturing, digital twins, process control, and optimization (and the list keeps growing!).
