ABOUT STÉFANO M. CIRIGLIANO
With 15+ years of experience in preclinical cancer models, I am a research scientist who is passionate about understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of tumor plasticity and developing novel therapies. I have a PhD in Cell Biology and I am currently an Assistant Professor of Research in Neuroscience at Weill Cornell Medicine, where I lead the Starr Foundation Cerebral Organoid Translational Core.My core competencies include stem cell research, single cell -omics, gene editing, and cell bio-assays. I use cerebral organoids, which are 3D models of the human brain, to decipher the cellular state dynamics of glioblastoma, the most aggressive and lethal brain cancer. I also apply advanced high-throughput techniques, to identify and validate new therapeutic targets. My mission is to bridge the gap between basic and translational research and to contribute to the advancement of precision medicine for brain tumors.
