ABOUT STEFANO RUZZA

Stefano Ruzza is Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Turin. He is also Head of Program of T.wai, the Torino World Affairs Institute, with responsibility over the “Violence and Security” research area.His research interests are conflict transformation (with a focus on Mynmar and Uganda), non-state armed actors in international relations and, more specifically, private military and security companies (PMSCs). In his teaching activity, he makes extensive use of innovative methodologies (e.g. role-playing and simulations).Prof. Ruzza lectures regularly in advanced educational programs of the Italian Army, is responsible for the Italian translation of the world-renown SIPRI Yearbook Summary, and is a member of the Italian Ethnological Mission in Equatorial Africa. He is also the scientific director of the Engaging Conflict Summer School an advanced training program designed to critically understand conflict and tackle it as a dynamic reality.
