ABOUT STEFANO NEGRI
Stefano is an advisor to companies and governments on strategy, energy transition and economic development. Amongst his most recent engagements, Stefano has supported a new net zero city in Saudi Arabia in defining its industrial development strategy; has worked to launch climate tech funds and decarbonization startups; and has advised the executives of a global aviation player on macrotrends and strategy.Stefano brings 10+ years of experience at the World Bank. During his tenure, he led priority projects in the CEO\'s Office; he managed the World Bank\'s global portfolio on competitiveness and innovation, with US$ 3 Billion in lending and advisory; and he founded the World Bank Competitive Cities Service Line. He also represented the World Bank as start-up COO at the World SME Forum, a B20/G20 initiative. Prior to joining the World Bank, Stefano worked for 10 years at McKinsey & Company and the McKinsey Global Institute in Italy and China. There, he advised firms in the manufacturing, e-commerce, airline and telecom industries; and governments on urbanization trends and public sector reform.Over the years, Stefano volunteered for NGOs in Africa and Latin America, where he devised entrepreneurship development plans and park / city / regional environmental strategies.Stefano is co-author of “Competitive Cities for Jobs and Growth” (World Bank, 2015). He also co-authored “Preparing for China’s Urban Billion” (McKinsey Global Institute, 2009) and other reports, articles and blogs. He featured as guest speaker and panelist in events organized by the World Bank, the European Community, the WTO, G20/B20, NDRC China, Harvard Business School, Georgetown University, CEIBS Shanghai, and TEDx amongst others.Stefano holds a Master of Science in Environmental and Land Planning Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano and a Master in Business Administration from INSEAD Singapore.
